The Time is near: We will do it our way – Samvel Karapetyan
Businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan issued a message, which reads:
“Dear compatriots,
Although the past months have been filled with trials and hardships for many of us, I see no need to dwell on them or discuss their details. Trials are for everyone, and each of us has overcome difficulties on the road to success. We have endured them and emerged stronger.
There are, however, two important developments of recent months that I wish to address today.
First, the open defeat of the small group has begun. What we have long spoken about has now been proven: the Armenian spirit and Armenian faith cannot be broken, regardless of how persistent or unscrupulous those attempting it may be. Armenians can be oppressed and persecuted, but they cannot be converted or stripped of their identity in the broadest sense of the word. We must complete this defeat of theirs – and this victory of the Armenian people – in the upcoming elections, launching the revival of our homeland.
Second, the events of recent months have allowed everyone, both inside and outside the country, to clearly see and understand that the small group seeks only one thing: to remain in power. Everything else is a lie. To remain in power at any cost – ruling without regard for national and state values, national interests, the dignified future of our children, or our collective reputation.
I am confident that together, through consistent work and by uniting our society, we will not allow this to happen.
This week, we presented the first five steps of my economic plan toward a Strong Armenia:
- 300,000 new jobs, particularly in the regions,
- Zero taxes for small businesses,
- 20 percent cheaper medicine for everyone,
- Guaranteed sales of village harvests,
- 20,000 affordable apartments with state support.
I guarantee these steps.
Those who join us will be millions of Armenians – those who envision the rise our country will experience when it transforms from a one-man toy state into a nation led by dozens of capable and outstanding Armenians. Together, we will quickly move from this regime of humiliation to a state of prosperity.
Together, under conditions of guaranteed and lasting peace, we will rapidly turn Armenia into an educated, healthy, secure, and developed country – a Strong Armenia.
The time is near. We will do it our way.”
