There’s No Place Like Home, winner of Best First Feature at the Croatia International Film Festival, opens at the Glendale Laemmle for a limited run, Oct. 16-22.
Left in despair after the 2023 ethnic cleansing, a group of us in the entertainment industry, including director Diana Madison and producers Ruzanna Kegeyan (Obsession), Shant Petrossian, and Gohar Khojabagyan decided the world needed to hear Artsakh’s story.
Three years later, it’s here: war veterans, musicians, mothers of fallen soldiers, business owners and everyday people telling the story themselves. They are resilience in its purest form, and their voices preserve the history while keeping the culture and heritage alive on screen and beyond.
Cinema is how a story outlives the news cycle. Full theaters this week tell festivals, distributors, and the global film industry that Artsakh has an audience, and that audience is us!
But keeping this history alive on the global stage requires a collective effort toward a legacy larger than any one of us. For us, that legacy is Artsakh, and we cannot do it without the support of our community’s leading voices.
Join us in amplifying this release and urging audiences to attend this deeply moving film; and show the people of Artsakh who bared their hearts, that they will not be forgotten.
Best First Feature-winning documentary at The Croatia International Film Festival, “There’s No Place Like Home” hits Glendale Laemmle for a limited engagement, preserving the legacy of Artsakh.
