U.S. Under Secretary of State visits Armenian Genocide Memorial
U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute said.
Hooker was welcomed by Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
The delegation laid flowers at the eternal flame and toured the memorial complex. Near the memorial wall, they stopped at the stones dedicated to Henry Morgenthau, the U.S. Ambassador to Constantinople during the Armenian Genocide, and Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross.
Both Morgenthau and Barton played a significant role in humanitarian assistance provided to Armenians.
