US Embassy in Armenia issues warning to US citizens

Yerevan — The United States Embassy in Yerevan issued on June 16 the following warning to American citizens currently in Armenia due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. The U.S. Embassy recommended U.S. citizens exercise increased caution:
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings.
- Keep a low profile.
- Monitor local media.
- Follow the instructions of local authorities.
- Contact your airline directly for flight change details if your flight is affected.
- Avoid locations with known Iranian government affiliation including the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan, the Iranian Consulate in Syunik, the Iran Trade Center, and the Blue Mosque.
- Note that some flights to and from Armenia utilize Iranian airspace. These flights may be subject to flight cancelations, delays, or deviations. Diversions within Iranian airspace are possible and the flight may land in Iran, which is a Level 4: Do Not Travel Country.
- Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP ) to receive security messages and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
