Armenia to provide medical care to children from Gaza
Armenia will arrange the transfer of children from the Gaza Strip with serious health conditions to the country and provide them with the necessary medical care at Armenian healthcare facilities, according to a government decision. The decision was approved at the government sitting today.
The government will allocate $43,000 from its reserve fund to the Ministry of Health for this purpose.
According to the justification for the decision, the Ministry of Health has expressed its readiness and is currently working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Health Organization to facilitate the transfer of up to 10 children with serious health conditions from Gaza and arrange their treatment in Armenian medical facilities.
Following a preliminary assessment of the children’s health conditions, seven of 11 patients under consideration were selected as candidates whose treatment could be provided in Armenia.
However, only three of the seven families agreed to come to Armenia under the proposed conditions, with each child allowed to be accompanied by a maximum of one person.
