Fordham hosted the 14th annual Armenian Mentor Forum

On March 28, close to 100 Armenian-American professionals and students converged on Fordham University in Manhattan for the 14th annual Mentor Forum. Leaders in a consortium of 12 diverse Armenian organizations collaborated to organize this annual forum — co-chaired by physician Larry Najarian and engineer Raffi Jamgotchian — to match talented students with experienced mentors across a wide array of careers.
The three-part forum began with brief messages by a panel of five experts on careers. This segued into 90 minutes of networking in five break-out rooms for health care, business, law, science/engineering, and other fields. The participants then re-gathered in one room to share a large 14th anniversary cake.
For 15 centuries, Armenians across the Diaspora have been known world-wide as unusually talented, educated professionals devoted to their children and families. These three features were evident once again in this annual forum, where skilled mentors at the top of their field advised young Armenians who welcomed their counsel and resources.
Journalist Stephan Nigohosian is preparing a detailed report and photos on this forum. Meanwhile, Hye mentor consortium welcomes comments as it plans future activities for the Armenian community. For details, contact Raffi at rjamgotchian@aesa-ne.org or check https://armenianmentors.org.
