Four Ethnic Armenian Businessmen Are in Forbes World’s Billionaire List
YEREVAN (ARKA) – Four ethnic Armenian businessmen have been placed in Forbes World’s Billionaire’s List for this year. The list includes 1,810 individuals with the total net worth of $6.48 trillion.
The four ethnic Armenian billionaires are Sergey Galitsky (Harutyunyan), the owner of Magnet network of shops and the Russian football club Krasnodar. He is on the 219th position with $5.7 billion. Samvel Karapetyan, the owner of Tashir group of companies is on the 549th position with $3.1 billion.
Argentinean-Armenian billionaire Eduardo Eurnekian is on the 810th place with $2.2 billion. The head of Russian insurance company Rosgosstrakh Daniel Khacaturov is worth $1.4 billion is on the 1,275th position.
With a net worth of $75 billion, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates remained the richest person in the world for the third year in a row. While his net worth dipped from the $79.2 billion posted last year, Gates remained on top of the annual list.
Following Gates in the list are Amancio Ortega, with a net worth of $67 billion amassed from his fashion chain Zara; investor Warren Buffett, with a net worth of $60.8 billion; Carlos Slim Helu, with a net worth of $50 billion from telecommunications and; and Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $45.2 billion. Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg climbed to the sixth spot, with a net worth of $44.6 billion.
