Gymnast Artur Davtyan Wins Silver Medal at Paris Olympics
Armenia’s Artur Davtyan won a silver medal at the Paris Summer Olympics on Sunday, marking the first medal earned by Team Armenia.
Artur Davtyan scored 14.966 points, the average of two jumps in the pole vault event.
The Armenia gymnast is a bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games, world champion, two-time European champion, and three-time world cup winner.
France’s Ambassador to Armenia, Olivier Decotigny, congratulated Armenia on winning the first medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
“Congratulations to gymnast Artur Davtyan, who won Armenia’s first medal,” he said in a post on X.
