MICHIGAN ARMENIANS SUPPORT US SENATE CANDIDATE MIKE ROGERS WHO COMMITS TO JOIN ARMENIAN CAUCUS
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan – On October 29th, Michigan United States Senate Republican Candidate Mike Rogers hosted a fundraiser for his campaign with special guest US Senator Tim Scott. The event was supported by Michigan Armenians for Mike Rogers Co-Chairs Dr. Gary Assarian, John Jamian and Corinne Khederian, Esq. who are spearheading Armenian fundraising efforts for Rogers. John Jamian and Corinne Khederian also serve as Co-Chairs of the Michigan Chapter of the Armenian Assembly of America and Dr. Assarian is a member of the Assembly.
Rogers, who is a former Congressman and Army Veteran, is supportive of Armenian causes and peo At the fundraiser, Rogers reiterated his support and stated: “I’m thankful for the support of the Armenian community throughout Michigan and I am committed to supporting their long history of working to bring peace to their homeland. Whether in business, faith, government, or our communities, the Armenian people have made tremendous contributions to American society and we are all grateful.”
The need to address issues important to Armenia and Armenians and support candidates who do, via the legislative branch, remains at the forefront of the efforts of the members of the Armenian Assembly of Michigan. At a prior meeting with Assembly members, according to Jamian, “Mike Rogers stated that, if successful, he would be proud to join the Armenian Caucus.” Dr. Assarian stated, “Should Rogers win, this would be the first time that both US Senators representing Michigan will be members.”
“Rogers’ Senate race, now less than a week out from election day, is considered a toss up and in one poll shows Rogers winning”, according to Khederian, “with the momentum in Michigan favoring Republicans on election day.”
