Noubar Afeyan and Moderna Honored with National Medal of Technology and Innovation by White House
Dr. Noubar Afeyan, Co-Founder and Board Chairman of Moderna, and Founder and CEO of Flagship Pioneering, has been awarded the prestigious National Medal of Technology and Innovation by Dr. Arati Prabhakar, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). The award ceremony was held on January 3, 2025, at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
This honor recognizes Moderna’s groundbreaking contributions to biotechnology, particularly the development of mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccines, which played a critical role in combating the global Covid-19 pandemic.
