Standing for Truth, not Sides

I have always believed that truth should transcend politics. In Armenia, where every headline and social media post can carry geopolitical weight, it’s easy to be pulled into partisan divides. But my work with the Truth And Accountability League (TAAL) is not about choosing sides within Armenia’s internal politics. I do not engage in or comment on domestic political disputes. My mission is to defend Armenia’s truth, its people, its history, and its right to be represented honestly in the global conversation.
The information war against Armenia did not begin with tanks or treaties. It began with words—deliberate misinformation, propaganda, and distortion launched and amplified by Azerbaijan and Turkey to weaken public trust, manipulate perception, and isolate Armenia from its allies. For years, these false narratives have eroded credibility and created confusion about who Armenians are, what they stand for, and what they endure.
That is the space where TAAL works.
We monitor and challenge disinformation, propaganda, and gaslighting that target Armenia and Armenians across media, academia, and policy discourse. This is not a partisan mission; it’s a truth mission. When we correct a false report, expose bias, or educate journalists about context, we are not defending a party. We are defending reality.
By confronting misinformation, TAAL helps Armenia focus on its real battles, the ones that matter most for its security, economy, and democracy. When falsehoods go unchecked, they divert energy from nation-building and diplomacy. When they are addressed, Armenia can engage from a position of strength and clarity.
Our work is part watchdog, part educator, and part bridge-builder. We collaborate with media professionals, academics, and civic leaders to help them recognize and resist manipulation. We train community members to identify and report disinformation. We also provide factual resources and media literacy tools to help Armenians, especially young people, navigate an increasingly distorted information landscape.
Truth is Armenia’s most strategic resource. It is the foundation for fair diplomacy, credible advocacy, and international solidarity. By ensuring the truth is heard, TAAL strengthens Armenia’s bargaining power on the world stage.
In an era when lies move faster than facts, TAAL’s work reminds us that integrity is a form of defense. Keeping misinformation at bay is not about politics. It is about protecting Armenia’s story, ensuring that it is told honestly, and empowering future generations to build upon it with confidence.
Our mission is simple but vital: defend truth so Armenia can define its future.
