Supervisor Hilda Solis Awards $25,000 Grant to Montebello Armenian Cultural Foundation

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis on Wednesday presented a $25,000 check to the Armenian Cultural Foundation of Montebello. The Foundation provides its facility for several organizations, specifically the ARF “Dro Gomideh,” the Armenian National Committee of America – San Gabriel Valley Chapter, the AYF “Vahan Cardashian” Chapter, the Armenian Relief Society “Nairy” Chapter, the Hamazkayin “Moushegh Ishkhan” Chapter, and the Homenetmen Athletics.
The funds provided by Supervisor Solis will go towards ongoing renovation work at the Montebello Armenian Center and current youth programs that are vital for several reasons, both for the immediate well-being of young people and the long-term health of the community.
ARF “Dro Gomideh” members Jack Hadjinian and Ashod Mooradian were welcomed to Supervisor Hilda Solis’s Downtown L.A. office at the Hall of Administration building for a brief meeting and a check presentation.
“The Supervisor is no stranger to our organization; I first met Supervisor Solis 25 years ago when she was a State Senator before her election to Congress while working with other members of the Armenian National Committee of America,” said Jack Hadjinian. “Since her time in the State legislature, she has been a great advocate for our community and Armenia at every capacity she has held public office.”
