TAAL Releases Global Report Mapping Worldwide Armenian Population
Landmark 2026 report examines Armenia and Armenian communities across 76 nations, offering one of the most comprehensive compilations of publicly available data on the global Armenian population and diaspora
Los Angeles — Truth And Accountability League (TAAL), a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating hate, disinformation, and preserving cultural heritage, announced the release of The Global Armenian Nation: A Comprehensive Report on the Worldwide Armenian Population and Diaspora, one of the most comprehensive studies of the global Armenian population ever assembled.
Spanning nearly 200 pages, the report examines Armenian communities in 76 nations, bringing together official government census data, academic research, international organizations, and reputable community sources to provide a comprehensive snapshot of the worldwide Armenian nation. It also explores the institutions, demographic trends, and challenges shaping Armenian communities across the globe.
The report documents one of the world’s oldest civilizations beyond the borders of the Republic of Armenia, highlighting how Armenian communities have preserved their language, culture, faith, and identity despite genocide, forced displacement, war, migration, and assimilation.
Among its findings, the report notes that:
· Armenian communities exist on every inhabited continent and in more than 100 countries and territories.
· More Armenians now live outside the Republic of Armenia than within its borders.
· The largest Armenian populations are found in Armenia, Russia, the United States, France, Iran, Lebanon, Argentina, Canada, and Australia.
· The United States—particularly the Los Angeles metropolitan area—is home to one of the world’s largest Armenian communities outside Armenia.
· Many historic Armenian communities face demographic decline due to war, political instability, migration, and assimilation.
· Armenian churches, schools, cultural organizations, charities, media outlets, and advocacy groups continue to preserve Armenian identity across generations.

Unlike previous publications that focus on individual countries or regional populations, The Global Armenian Nation presents a worldwide perspective, combining demographic data with historical context and analyses of Armenian institutions, community life, and long-term sustainability.
TAAL intends for the publication to become an ongoing reference that will be updated periodically as new census data, migration trends, and demographic research become available.
