40 military deaths reported in Armenia in 2024

Meanwhile, the non-service-related deaths included three from illness, seven from traffic accidents, one suicide and two fatal accidents.
The number of military deaths declined compared to previous years, with 83 reported in 2023 and 64 in 2022.
In 2024, a total of 2,093 incidents were recorded in the military, a decrease from 2,358 in 2023. They included 762 accidents and 1,331 criminal offenses, with 715 classified as military-related crimes. Serious crimes accounted for 178 cases, while 39 were categorized as particularly serious offenses.
Additionally, 904 criminal cases involving 1,026 suspects were submitted to the courts, leading to 751 convictions. The number of completed court cases nearly doubled compared to 2023.
Financial damages within the military system amounted to 5.68 billion drams ($14.5 million) in 2024, an increase from 5.06 billion drams in 2023. However, out-of-court recoveries reached 4.46 billion drams ($11.31 million), nearly doubling the amount recovered during the previous year.
