Catholicos Aram I congratulates Trump on election win

His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, sent a letter on November 6 congratulating US President-elect Donald Trump:

“With utmost pleasure we greet you as president-elect of the United States. We warmly congratulate your election which will surely open a promising page in the history of the United States.

 

“Indeed, you are assuming your responsibility at a crucial juncture in world history. We are confident that in a world filled with terrible crises and human rights violations, you will play a leading role in establishing a peace based on justice and in protecting and recognizing human rights. We are also confident that with your rich experience, strong leadership, and extensive international connections, you will be able to face with firm faith and courage the crises that affect humanity.

“You can be sure, Mr. President, of our strong friendship. We pray to God to strengthen and guide you in your responsibility and mission.”
