Catholicos Aram I, Ocampo discuss issues related to Artsakh

Luis Moreno Ocampo, the first prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), on Friday contacted His Holiness Catholicos Aram I by phone to discuss matters concerning Artsakh, now occupied by Azerbaijan, in the light of COP29 being held in Azerbaijan, the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia reported.

Ocampo provided an update on his ongoing efforts and emphasized the critical role Aram I plays through his international connections.

“In response, His Holiness Aram I, expressing deep appreciation for Mr. Ocampo’s work, shared his own ongoing efforts aligned with this mission, especially regarding securing the release of the Armenian political prisoners and POWs held captive in Azerbaijan,” reads the statement.
