Mother Teresa Was Armenian
YEREVAN (Nyut.am) – Very few know that Mother Teresa’s real name was Agnessa Boyajyan.
She said she was Armenian when she met with Catholicos Vazgen I, during her visit to Etchmiadzin in late 1988, after the disastrous earthquake.
Speaking to Nyut.am Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Church confirmed it:
“Yes, it is really so. Mother Teresa was an Armenian. The surname of her father, who escaped from Western Armenia to Albania, is Boyajyan. Her mother is Albanian Christian. She told it to Vazgen I during their meeting in 1988,” the Artsakh Primate said.
