New $254 Million Ski Resort Opens in Armenia

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the newly launched “Myler Mountain Resort” ski complex, where he chaired an on-site meeting of the interagency commission on free economic zones, the ministry’s press service reported.
The project has already received $68.5 million in investments, with an additional $30.5 million planned for this year. The total investment is expected to reach $254 million. The resort spans 2,070 hectares at an altitude of 2,850 meters, offering stunning views of the Ararat Valley and Mount Aragats.
The resort currently features two 10-seater gondola lifts by Doppelmayr and 21 kilometers of ski trails meeting European standards across all four levels of difficulty.
Its infrastructure includes three restaurant complexes, two equipment rental stations, an artificial snowmaking system, and chalet accommodations. A new restaurant and an Olympic-standard ice rink are set to open soon.
Plans are underway to construct several hotel complexes, including those under international brands. Granted free economic zone status in August 2024, the resort currently employs 450 people.
