Red Cross visits Armenians held captive in Azerbaijan

The representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited the Armenian detainees in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku in October. Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office stated.
Amatuni added that during the conversations with these detainees, the latter were able to contact their relatives.
The military and political leadership of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has been illegally detained in Baku prisons for a year now. Azerbaijan officially confirms the capture of 23 Armenians, 17 of whom ended up there after Azerbaijan’s military aggression against Artsakh in September 2023.
