Exactly one year has passed since Ruben Vardanyan’s illegal arrest…
A year ago, about 120,000 Armenians, driven from their homes, were forced to leave Artsakh under the threat of genocide and ethnic cleansing. This mass exodus marked a tragic page in the centuries-old history of the Armenian people, and their struggle for survival and freedom.
Ruben Vardanyan, who moved to Artsakh during a critical time and dedicated himself to supporting his compatriots, was captured by the Azerbaijani military on September 27 while trying to leave the occupied territory.
The Azerbaijani authorities have kept him in prison for a year, without any legitimate grounds.
Despite his unlawful capture, Ruben does not surrender, demonstrating unbending determination and resilience even in the most difficult circumstances.
The anniversary of Ruben’s illegal capture is a reminder of his courage and resilience, the significance of his actions, and the urgency for justice to be served.
