Survey: Understanding Giving Preferences Among Individuals of Armenian Descent in the U.S.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y.—Satenik Papyan, a Ph.D. candidate in the Community Research and Action program at the State University of New York at Binghamton, invites individuals of Armenian descent in the United States to participate in a brief anonymous survey as part of her doctoral research.
The survey explores giving preferences within the Armenian community and aims to contribute to global research on philanthropy. It is available in both Armenian and English and is open to:
- Individuals who are 18 years or older;
- Those of Armenian descent;
- Residents of the United States on a long-term or permanent basis (tourists and short-term visitors are not eligible).
About the Survey:
- Participation is anonymous and takes approximately 5 to 7 minutes;
- Participants do not need to identify as Armenian but must have Armenian roots to be eligible;
- All responses will be presented as grouped data and will remain strictly confidential.
To express gratitude for participants’ time, a one-time $500 donation will be made to a youth organization in either Armenia or the United States. At the end of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to vote for the organization to receive the one-time the donation.
The survey deadline is January 17, 2025.
This research has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Binghamton University, ensuring all ethical guidelines are met. This research is conducted on Qualtrics, an approved survey platform at Binghamton University. The information collected is secure, and participation presents no greater risk than typical internet use. Participation is voluntary, and respondents can withdraw at any time.
